Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about converting bank statements.

Getting Started

How do I convert a bank statement PDF to CSV or Excel?+

Go to the Convert page, drag and drop your bank statement PDF, wait a few seconds while we parse the transactions, review the preview, then download as CSV or Excel. No account or signup required.

Which banks are supported?+

We currently support statements from Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi, and Capital One, with dedicated parsers for each bank layout. Other banks may work with our generic parser. See the full supported banks list for details.

Do I need to create an account?+

No. You can convert a statement without signing up. Accounts are only needed for paid plans and subscription management.

What output formats do you support?+

CSV (comma-separated values, ideal for importing into accounting software like QuickBooks or Xero) and Excel (.xlsx, with formatting preserved).

Security & Privacy

Is it safe to upload my bank statement?+

Yes. Your PDF is processed in an isolated worker over HTTPS, the original file is deleted immediately after parsing completes, and extracted results are automatically deleted after 30 minutes. We never sell, share, or use your data to train AI models.

Do you store my financial data?+

No persistent storage. Uploaded PDFs are deleted right after parsing. Parsed transaction data lives only in temporary storage and is wiped after 30 minutes. See our Privacy Policy for the full data retention table.

Can you see my account numbers or balances?+

Our systems process files automatically without human review. We do not access, read, or analyze the contents of your statements.

Troubleshooting

My conversion failed or returned empty data. Why?+

The most common cause is a scanned PDF — a statement that is an image rather than text. Our parser requires a text layer. Statements downloaded directly from online banking almost always work. If you scanned a paper statement, OCR support is on our roadmap.

Some transactions are missing or wrong.+

This usually means the bank uses a layout variant we have not seen before. Contact support with the bank name and statement type (checking/savings/credit card) — do not send the statement itself. We typically add support for new layouts quickly.

What is balance verification?+

After parsing, we check that the extracted transactions add up correctly against the statement's opening and closing balances. If the numbers do not reconcile, we flag it so you know to review the output before using it.

Pricing & Billing

Is there a free option?+

Yes, you can try a conversion for free. Paid options include pay-per-use credits ($2.99 per conversion, valid 7 days) and Pro subscriptions for unlimited conversions. See the Pricing page for details.

How do I cancel my subscription?+

You can cancel at any time. Access continues until the end of your current billing period, and you will not be charged again. Contact support if you need help.

What is your refund policy?+

If a paid conversion fails due to a technical error on our side, contact us within 14 days and we will re-run it or issue a refund.
